Many long for a perfectly manicured lawn—green and lush. But the severe lack of rain in many places around the country has pushed homeowners to enlist the help of experts to achieve this end with green grass paint.
Who’s to say professional sports fields, golf courses and theme parks get to have all the fun, and the green?
Green paint can be used for lawn makeovers, and is waterproof, odorless, non-toxic and biodegradable, according to one Staten Island-based company that offers a professional lawn painting service. The business, Grass is Greener, has recently been the subject of various local news reports; see: New Yorkers with Dead Grass Pay to Paint Lawn Green and The grass is never greener on the other side for Staten Island business.

According to the company’s website, the grass paint dries in two to three hours and lasts approximately three months.
While this company and others like to ply their craft on existing grass, how about a coating system that actually plants grass seeds? That coating technology was the subject of a previous D+D News story; see: OFF THE WALL: Professor Sees Growth Potential for ‘Grass Paint’.
