Dynasil Corp. of America (Watertown, Mass.) recently introduced LPXpro Lead Paint Analyzer, billed as the “fastest” product on the market for the measurement of lead paint on a variety of surfaces.

The handheld device is available to private-inspection services and government agencies in the U.S. and France, the two countries where the use of lead paint is regulated, the company says.
The product, which can deliver readings in two seconds, combines K-Shell X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) technology with a controlled-depth of interrogation feature to maximize reading accuracy, the company adds.
The product features an Android-based touch-screen interface, an ergonomic design and a small sensing footprint, enabling users to take readings in hard-to-reach areas, and is designed to meet all HUD and EPA requirements, the company says.
The product is being launched by Dynasil Products, a newly renamed business unit of the company’s Products and Technology Segment.
Developed using a “rigorous and disciplined Product Realization Process,” the company says the instrument is the first product launched as part of a long-term strategic roadmap of new product introductions planned for the next several years.
