Unearthed Paints (Louisville, Colo.) a manufacturer of eco-friendly paints and plasters, introduced a “natural hard wax oil finish” for wood, cork and stone in interior applications.

The Hard Wax Oil is described as an alternative to chemical sealants, is produced from non-toxic, natural raw materials, and does not contain VOCs, the company says.
The finish offers a “natural, breathable silky-matte finish that penetrates deep into the pores to enhance the wood’s natural beauty,” the company adds.
The product’s formulation includes linseed oil, carnauba wax, tung oil, and colophonium glycerine ester (produced by pine tree sap). The oil is made by melting carnauba wax and colophonium resin into a mixture of linseed oil and tung oil, the company says.
Founded in 2011, Unearthed Paints is a family-owned business that professes “a commitment to ingredient transparency.” See: In the Limelight: ‘Vegan’ Paint Company Settles on Fresh Vision.
