Bayer MaterialScience LLC has appointed Marc Daniel Block director, regional key account sales, for the company’s Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties (CAS) business unit.

Block leads the CAS regional key account sales team in the U.S. and heads the technical sales team and the Single Point of Contact office in the NAFTA region.
Block has worked at Bayer for 11 years, starting as an industrial sales clerk for Bayer AG, and has held a series of positions of increasing responsibilities. Most recently he was director, global product management for CAS, where he managed Bayer’s resin product line in the Asia-Pacific region.
The new position is Block’s first in the U.S.; he previously was based in China, Spain and Germany.
Block has a business diploma in marketing and controlling from the University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany, and an MBA degree from the Nanyang Business School in Singapore.
Bayer MaterialScience is a major producer of polymers and high-performance plastics in North America, and is part of the global Bayer MaterialScience business.
