Parex USA Inc. (Anaheim, Calif.) introduced AquaSol™, an acrylic finish formulated with hydrophobic and photocatalytic functionality, for use on new construction or refinish projects over EIFS, stucco, masonry, or concrete.

The company says the coating is highly water repellent, UV reflective and actually breaks down air pollutants on the coated surface and in the adjacent atmosphere. The solar-reflective functionality is reported to help to keep wall surface temperatures cool.
The product’s hydrophobicity (water-repellence) property helps keep the coated surface clean by means of natural rainwater. As water strikes the coating, it beads on the exterior surface, taking dirt, grime or soil with it, the company says.
Parex USA Inc. is a subsidiary of the ParexGroup, a division of Materis S.A., a French corporation.
