The Sherwin-Williams Company added a topcoat to its coatings-system product lineup for use in U.S. Department of Agriculture-inspected food and beverage facilities.
General Polymers’ FasTop 12 TC joins a product line that consists of FasTop 12S, FasTop S, FasTop M, FasTop S-U1, FasTop Cove Base and FasTop Plus with AgION antimicrobial technology.
The complete system is highly abrasion resistant, said Narsi Bodapati, vice president marketing, Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings.
The topcoat needs six hours to allow for light foot traffic and 12 hours for full return to service, the company says. It can be applied to concrete and steel floors in food-processing facilities, restaurants, commercial kitchens, and other constantly wet areas.
The product also is reported to provide a safe, non-slip, matte surface that helps hide wear patterns, the company says.
