The city of Sunrise, Fla., has invited bids for furnishing and applying an energy-efficient reflective roof coating to existing roofs at two fire stations and two wings of a civic center in Sunrise.

The project involves applying reflective roof coating to two wings of the Sunrise Civic Center.

Bids are due Nov. 16. The owner has scheduled a mandatory pre-bid conference for 10 a.m. Nov. 2.
The work locations include Fire Stations 59 and 92 and the Sunrise Civic Center.
The Sunrise Civic Center was opened 1998, and houses a variety of facilities and activities for area residents, including an athletic club, theater and art gallery.
The Project
The project scope includes applying elastomeric coatings to 66,890 square feet of existing modified bitumen flat/low-slope roofs, for the purpose of solar reflectance and waterproofing.
According to the bid documents, the metal counter flashing, equipment and stucco surfaces on the roofs are not to be coated.
In order to qualify for this project, the contractor must have successfully completed at least three projects of similar size and complexity within the last five years.
