The City of Scottsdale, Ariz., has invited bids for a roof recoating and partial roof replacement project at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Building.
Bids are due Sept. 8. The owner has scheduled a pre-bid conference for 8 a.m. Aug. 25.

The venue serves the greater Phoenix metro area and is one of the Southwest’s premier performing-arts halls, according to the facility’s website.
The project includes replacing the roof of the museum store and museum store storage room. The existing roof must be power cleaned and a roof coating system is to be installed on the remainder of the building.
The existing roof area is 54,795 square feet.
The work includes applying a primer and a light tan protective coating at rate of 1½ gallons per 100 square feet over the roof to achieve a 13-mil dry film thickness.
In addition, an inspection determined that the black mastic tested positive for asbestos content. This material may be removed by any licensed roofing contractor as long as the material is removed by hand tools, according to the project documents.
The structural engineer for the project is Architectural Resource Team Inc. of Phoenix.
Reported by Paint BidTracker, a construction reporting service devoted to identifying contracting opportunities for the coatings community.
