The American Institute of Architects invites women in leadership positions to register to attend the 2011 Women’s Leadership Summit, a two-day conference scheduled for Sept. 23-24 in Kansas City, Mo.
The summit—“What is Your Definition of Success?”—will focus on supporting women in leadership roles by providing a forum to inform, recognize and champion the work created by women in the architecture, AIA says.
The goals for the conference include the following.
• Raising the profile of women’s leadership in the profession • Promoting the design work of women • Exploring new paths to leadership • Mentorship and leadership succession
In addition, the institute says the conference offers an opportunity for women to network and strengthen their brand.
According to a draft agenda, the conference will begin with a welcome by the AIA Board, the AIA Diversity + Inclusion Council and the current AIA Firm of the Year, BNIM Architects.
Sessions are planned on the state of the current design market, guidance on success, marketing information and other insights and tools for women leaders, AIA says.
Cost of attendance is $175 until Sept. 8. Late or on-site registration is available for $225.
