New Mexico's San Juan County has invited bids for a project involving resurfacing and repainting of the helipad and hangar floor at San Juan Regional Medical Center, located in Farmington, N.M.
Bids are due May 11; a pre-bid conference is scheduled for April 28.

San Juan Regional Medical Center
The community hospital has 250 beds and serves the Four Corners region (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah). According to the hospital's website, it offers a broad range of medical, surgical and rehabilitation services.
The facility employs more than 1,700, is designated a Level III Trauma Center, and provides air ambulance service with a helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft.

The Project
The project involves abrasive-blast cleaning, resurfacing and recoating an existing helipad and hangar with a non-skid epoxy system. The surfaces to be coated are 66 feet by 61 feet and 25 feet by 62 feet for the helipad and 45 feet x 45 feet for the hangar.
Also, the project specifications indicate that the coating used for the exterior surfaces must be highly durable so as to protect against helicopter skids, stretchers, snow shovels and fuel spills.
Reported by Paint BidTracker, a construction reporting service devoted to identifying contracting opportunities for the coatings community.
