The Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) announced the start-up of its new Evaluation Services CRRC (ES-CRRC) program, which allows ENERGY STAR Partners to list their products without rating through the CRRC Product Rating Program.
As an EPA-approved certification body for roofing products and a branch of the CRRC, the new certification program offers a streamlined approach to rating, the council said
The ES-CRRC entity is a separate operating program from the existing CRRC Product Rating Program, including application processing and verification testing. With the ES-CRRC program, products will be processed according to the protocol specified in the ENERGY STAR Qualified Roof Product Specification document, CRRC said.
The ES-CRRC program offers reduced rates for products that are listed in ES-CRRC and the CRRC Product Rating System. “Products rated by the CRRC Product Rating Program that qualify for ENERGY STAR certification will receive a rate of over 50% off initial new product listing fees,” CRRC said.
Also for products that do not require compliance in California, partners can choose to decline the charges associated with the CRRC Product Rating Program, CRRC said.
