The Texas General Land Office will accept sealed bids on Dec. 15, 2010, for interior painting at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Texas.
The 75,000-square-foot facility provides skilled nursing services to veterans under the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. The value of the contract is estimated at between $90,000 and $120,000. The owner will conduct a pre-bid conference on Nov. 17 to review the project particulars.
The project involves cleaning and painting walls, ceilings, and trim in a total of 242 rooms and hallways, including patient rooms, offices, lounges, and storage spaces. The facility is fully occupied, requiring the use of dust- and odor-control equipment and the restriction of paint application to brushes and rollers. The gypsum board and metal surfaces will be repainted with low-odor latex primers and finishes.
