Description: Certified Coatings Company is seeking a highly organized, fulltime NACE III certified coatings inspector for work on various coatings projects primarily in northern California. This position will initially be based in Oakland, CA. Only suitably experienced and local/regional candidates will be considered. The inspector’s primary function will be to monitor, inspect and document the environmental conditions and paint application to ensure quality control and contract compliance for bridge structure coatings. A professional demeanor, strong work ethic and a positive attitude is a must. Duties: Conduct QC for paint application on bridges as a NACE Level III Inspector. Verify compliance with Caltrans Specifications. Communicating with Project Manager to determine the specific requirements of a given work order including the scope of work. Ensure that paint application is performed within the project requirements of the contract documents and the specifications. Generate and process detailed inspection reports on a daily basis in an expeditious and thorough manner. Overtime may be required Qualifications: Required Skills Applicants must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or the equivalent, a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a physical. Detail oriented with a dedication to the quality control process; ability to understand and read specifications and product data sheets. Excellent communication and documentation skills, with ability to clearly communicate technical issues. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Must be able to use of modern communication and computer equipment including cell phones, digital inspection equipment and laptop computers. Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments without sacrificing efficiency or quality of the work. Ability to work with minimal supervision in field conditions. Required Experience Candidates MUST possess NACE CIP level I, Level II, and Level III peer reviewed. Minimum of 2 years experience conducting coatings inspections. Previous Bridge experience conducting QC type inspections for coatings, SSPC C3 is a plus. Must not fear working at heights. Other: Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation. 1 ½ year assignment, opportunity to become permanent. There is no per diem or relocation associated with this position.
